So, 2008 didn't start off so great. Despite the fact that "great" and "08" rhyme!!! Go figure!

It was marked by some serious tragedy and loss that really caused me to shut down personally and essentially put the MLSW ministry on hold for the greater part of 4 months.

In the silence, SW pulled together as a ministry family and learned a lot about what "charity begins at home" means.

Personally, I wrestled with trusting God and with wondering or caring if my life mattered as much -- particularly life in public ministry. I believe it was March when we resumed our regular rehearsal schedule and I think we practiced two months straight without a gig in sight. The thought of going back to my ministry life was not inviting at all.

Not only was I experiencing significant bouts of stage fright but the idea of withdrawing altogether was becoming more and more appealing and acceptable.

Still Water was being so supportive of me, that I really don't know if they were enjoying the break or longing to get back out there and I didn't really have the courage to ask.

On a recovery trip to the Bahamas, I went parasailing. Something I would've never done before. And while I was 100 feet up in the air, I looked out over the horizon. It was wide open, without constraints and had gloriously blue, gold, white and fuchsia hues. I began to weep but I didn't dare close my eyes.

I took in a deep breathe and in a very unplanned moment, I "saw tomorrow". It had color and joy and reason... I hadn't felt any of those things for such a long time. I felt like God had just reintroduced me to...life.

"Introducing...Life" is the focus of MLSW's Summer Concert! Come be a part of the refreshing environment and inspiring music. Along with our new material, we'll be introducing you to some of the best emerging artists in the area.
